I am interested in taking the real estate exam to get my license. Anyone know of any good study material that would help me out quickly or if there are any interactive dvds…

Agents are licensed per state. The regulations for your state are likely online. Each state’s requirements vary and the amount of classroom time will vary greatly. The lead time to the next test is also a factor.
Some states will allow home study. Others requires each course being tested in a controlled (monitored) environment.
Some of the time an office will cover the cost of such training after you start earning an income. You might check with various offices to see if they are taking on new staff, if they have a recommendation for training and if they have any reimbursement plans.
Community colleges are one source for a state approved course. There are also private providers so use the web to search. Some are national with courses trailered for each state. Others are very much local and only offer courses for 1 state.
You will need to take the required courses. Different states require different hours and courses. The #1 goal of these courses is to help you PASS THE TEST. Buying a home will not suffice. The test is the legal aspects, such as state law, national law, code of ethics, ECOA, RESPA, Staute of frauds etc… of the business and not “Real World”. Your best option would be to meet with a Broker of the company you wish to place your license with and speak with them. They will guide you through the process, give you a list of what they offer and why you should choose their company, they will also give you a recommendation on a school and a list of pricing for school and any further costs such as MLS fees, Supra Key, E&O Insurance, Board fee’s etc…Basicallly a good break down of what it will cost you to get into the business.
You will need a real estate salesman’s course. You can get that at your nearest junior college, college, thru a real estate broker’s office or in some states it is online. It’s better to take the course in the classroom so you can be a part of the discussions. After you pass that course you can submit your picture, fingerprints, criminal background check, application and a fee to go take your test (you may have to wait several months). It takes a lot of studying…Here a lot of people don’t pass the first time. If you fail you’ll have to reapply and wait for the next test and pass it. Here before you work you’ll have to take the post-salesman’s course, and then of course training in your brokers office. I was told when you hire on you need a 1-3 year old car, full coverage on your car, $10,000 upfront to get started.

You really need to clarify the State you live in Different states have different laws. In TX you have to attend 150 classroom hours in order to even take the exam. The schools that offer the exams also offer pre-test classes.
The FasTrack Program is the best way to complete your 150-hour requirement, combining home study with class time so you can finish in as little as 3 weeks.
This sounds sarcastic, but it is meant in good faith. I would say the fastest way to learn is to start to buy property.
This ofcourse may not be an option. Otherwise the web would have lots of stuff if you search for it – keep in mind real estate laws are often localised, so make sure you get data relevant for your area.
Work experience in a real estate office would be a basic starting point too…
good luck
Most states require you ta take a state real estate course. Then you are tested and if you pass that test, you take the state exam and get your license. You can’t just buy some DVDs and take the exam. I’m pretty sure that this is the way it works with most or all states.
